Top SEO Tips That You Should Know!

Do you want to drive more traffic to your website? If so, how are you planning to do that? Lucky for you, we have come up with great and very useful (may I add) tips for you to use! All the tips given below are already proven effective when it comes to boosting up not only your traffic but your ranking as well!

Make use of these tried-and-tested tips and be amazed with how far you can go!
First Tip: Site map. This is a must for every big site. With a site map. Guests or viewers of your site can easily go from one page to the other. Aside from that, search engine robots will not have any problems accessing the pages of your site. They can already check out your site, in just two clicks! On the other hand, small sites can get great benefits by having their own navigation bar, a small counterpart of a site map.

Second Tip: Link Titles. This will be a great identification of every page in your site. By providing your links with titles, the readers will be fully aware about where they currently are. Through the titles, search engines can easily identify your pages and how relevant these are.

Third Tip: Highlight Few Keywords. Enclose some of your keywords in this tag-- . By doing so, your keywords will stand above the rest of the words in your articles. However, you should only do this to some of your keywords and not all.

Fourth Tip: Newsletters. Archiving ezines is a common practice for most publishers. By offering to do articles for them, you will get the opportunity to have a long-term link. Most links from ezine actually last for a few years, or even decades!

Fifth Tip: Meticulous Use Of Anchor text. We are all aware that using anchor text is quite effective. However, you should be cautious when using it. Regardless of how effective this tactic can be, abusing its use will get you nowhere. If all your inbound links carry your anchor text, automation will take place. This is a no-no for Google. For better results, try using the company name or URL for some of your links.

Sixth Tip: Article Exchanges. Link exchanges are quite popular in the SEO industry. Well, article exchanges are just like that. In this strategy, you will be publishing an article, which carries a back link, in one site. In return, you will allow them to publish an article in your site too. You will both get benefit from this since you will both be getting high quality links.

Seventh Tip: Multiple Domains. In the event that you specialize in various areas that are not related to each other, it is best that you make use of separate domains for each topic. You can get a lot of benefits for doing this. For one, you will be able to get two available searches instead of one. Lastly, you can get more than one directory listings.

What Is SEO and How Can It Improve Your Business?

We've heard it over and over again, that anyone who is in business today and who doesn't have a website is losing out on customers and clients. So now those same people that told us we absolutely must have a website are now out telling us that we all now need to have to have an active SEO policy, that the website on its own just isn't enough. So then just what is SEO anyway and why is it so important?

In plain language SEO stands for (search engine optimization). It's the means how you attract people to your site and with so many sites out there now, knowing about SEO is more crucial than it ever was.

Sure 10 years ago you could get by without it if you were in a fairly exclusive market niche. Today however, you just don't have that luxury anymore because there's tough competition everywhere you go now on the Internet.

Picturing in your mind how SEO works is easy. All you have to do is imagine the Internet as a giant shopping centre, which in a sense it is. Now of course the best place for your stall or kiosk in that shopping centre would be right up by the front entrance where everybody has to walk by. Beyond that any place that puts you in the way of a good flow of traffic is your next best choice, but what you don't want is a place in the back.

Right now there are a series of keywords that relate to your business. For instance if you were selling restaurant equipment online one of your prime, if not best keywords, would be restaurant equipment. Then after that you'll have a whole series of other related keywords like food slicers, refrigerators, commercial fryers, and the list just goes on and on.

So the name of the game in SEO is to make it so when the keywords that relate to your business are typed into the search engine of a person's computer your site will be as close as possible to the first page of all the pages that come up. Page one is optimal.

Now here's the catch, competition for the main keyword (restaurant equipment) for the person who has a restaurant equipment site is going to be fierce. Just as it will be for the main keyword or keywords in whatever business you're in. So in many cases SEO efforts may be better focused on secondary keywords where the competition is low

So now you're probably wondering how you compete. All this SEO stuff is good and fine and you get it but what you need to know now is how to throw some good punches once you enter the competition.

The answer is it turns out that SEO is a little bit of art, a little bit of science, a little bit of psychology and the little bit of online business entrepreneurialism all mixed up together.

SEO, SERP, and SEM and Their Significance!

In spite of the past few years of economic issues worldwide, it is a fact that internet sales continue to grow year after year. For any business, the internet has made it easier to find targeted customers to whom products and services can be offered.

To achieve a company's full potential in this expanding sales venue, it is important to quickly learn and grasp onto the technological advantages in establishing strong internet market competition. To achieve this goal, it is imperative to know what the various acronyms mean that have sprung up in usage with firms that market techniques by which increased sales can be accomplished on the internet.

Optimization (SEO)
Search engine optimization is a method of ensuring individual web pages are accessible by these specialized programs for keywords that are used by potential customers for a particular product or service. Basically, it is a process of improving a website's visibility to gain high organic ranking on Search Engine Results Pages (SERP's).

One substantial consideration for search engines is that SEO is important for spiders. Spiders are software applications that follow a link from one page to another throughout the web, getting content from sites and 'feeding it' to these information-seeking devices which in turn gather that information and use it to rank all the various webpages. SEO is important in providing relevant, fresh and quality information about available products and services.

There are two SEO tactics commonly known as white hat and black hat. White hat SEO is a tactic that conforms to the search engines' guidelines; it is time-consuming but yields results that are worth the investment. Black hat SEO is a tactic that attempts to improve ranking by using unethical practices not approved by these information-seeking programs and can even involve deception.

Result Pages (SERP's)
The results of search engines that display when a user makes an inquiry using certain keywords are commonly known as SERP's or Search Engine Result Pages. It is important for a website to have a good position on SERP's in order to increase visibility for the internet spiders. SERP ranking is improved by some methods used by a web designer such as optimizing web pages with SEO techniques, building quality backlinks, and many others.

Marketing (SEM)
Search engine marketing or SEM is the process of getting more traffic from or attaining good visibility on the internet. SEM can be thought of as an umbrella through which different process work including SEO and certain paid services such as Pay Per Click (PPC). This technique is used to expand a market across the internet.

Investing in SEO as a part of an overall SEM strategy takes time to reach the pinnacle of a successful website that ranks high organically on Search Engine Results first pages for relevant keywords. An example of a paid SEM service is Pay Per Click. This is a method by which a company's website pays to be on the first page of SERP's by the means of paying a separate charge every a used clicks on that link from that SERP, hence the name pay-per-click. PPC is not organic and ranking results will disappear if PPC is no longer used.

Business Application
For any business, it is important to look for a proven company using organic SEO to achieve results through ethical techniques. Having organic SEO assures a business of a high return on investment by gaining maximum visibility within major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing and MSN Search.

Always remember that a great SEO company is one employing only white hat SEO strategies to place a website in top rankings in order to elicit the interest of more people searching for that particular product or service. Choosing these essential steps for a website can help a business master good techniques and implement technological strategies for a strong presence in the internet market!

White Hat Versus Black Hat SEO

SEO techniques can be classified into two broad categories: techniques that search engines recommend as part of good design, and those techniques of which search engines do not approve. The search engines attempt to minimize the effect of the latter, among them spamdexing. Industry commentators have classified these methods, and the practitioners who employ them, as either white hat SEO, or black hat SEO.White hats tend to produce results that last a long time, whereas black hats anticipate that their sites may eventually be banned either temporarily or permanently once the search engines discover what they are doing.

A SEO technique is considered white hat if it conforms to the search engines' guidelines and involves no deception. As the search engine guidelines are not written as a series of rules or commandments, this is an important distinction to note. White hat SEO is not just about following guidelines, but is about ensuring that the content a search engine indexes and subsequently ranks is the same content a user will see. White hat advice is generally summed up as creating content for users, not for search engines, and then making that content easily accessible to the spiders, rather than attempting to trick the algorithm from its intended purpose. White hat SEO is in many ways similar to web development that promotes accessibility, although the two are not identical.

Black hat SEO attempts to improve rankings in ways that are disapproved of by the search engines, or involve deception. One black hat technique uses text that is hidden, either as text colored similar to the background, in an invisible div, or positioned off screen. Another method gives a different page depending on whether the page is being requested by a human visitor or a search engine, a technique known as cloaking.

Search engines may penalize sites they discover using black hat methods, either by reducing their rankings or eliminating their listings from their databases altogether. Such penalties can be applied either automatically by the search engines' algorithms, or by a manual site review. One infamous example was the February 2006 Google removal of both BMW Germany and Ricoh Germany for use of deceptive practices. Both companies, however, quickly apologized, fixed the offending pages, and were restored to Google's list.
